Guides Spotlight

Without Their Skills, Compassion and Their Love for Adventure We Would Be But a Fraction of What We Are.

Sure we are the steepest and fastest zipline canopy tour... Sure we are in the Trip Advisor Hall of Fame with four straight years of receiving a Certificate of Excellence, and while these are great accolades it's something else that truly sets us apart. Our incredible guides! Without their skills, compassion and their love for adventure we would be but a fraction of what we are. Don’t believe us? Check out a few of the amazing people we are proud to call our guides below and we will see you in the trees!

Guide Profile: Ryan Guerra
Ryan Guerra is a classically trained violinist from Texas. After a stint of living out his dreams playing in bands in New York City, his heart lead him to the quaint little town of Flat Rock, NC. Ryan has found the perfect balance of working in nature as a guide at The Gorge Zipline and performing and directing at the Flat Rock Playhouse. Ryan has a serious quiver of instruments in his back pocket and will also win your heart as he guides you down The Gorge Zipline.

Guide Profile: Chris Gaillard
Born and raised in Horse Shoe, NC Chris fell in love with skiing, skateboarding, and snowboarding from a young age. His love for the snow brought him to Utah where he could snowboard all winter long. He is not your average ski bum- Chris is a Recreational Therapist who helps disadvantaged children get on the mountain skiing and snowboarding. Each summer he returns to the area to guide at The Gorge where his love for life is infectious. His advice…”Smile-it makes everything better”.

Guide Profile: Bill Ennis
Bill was born in Jacksonville, FL in 1941 and found his true passion late in life. At age 53 he bought his first horse and fell in love with team roping. His love for horses and ranching brought him to Tyron, NC. Unable to completely retire Bill stopped by The Gorge to get a part-time job and ended up becoming one of our favorite guides. Want to know his secret sauce of staying young?
